Meet Tara Thompson - owner

Four years ago, I was in the depths of my own healing journey—navigating the long, often painful path that trauma can carve.

During that time, I made myself a promise: if I made it through, I would not just close the chapter—I would rise from it with purpose, carrying the light I fought so hard to find.

The Quest was first the title of a book I began writing, a book about my own journey through trauma, transformation, and the search for healing.

Writing was my way of processing of seeking answers, of healing. But as I wrote, something else began to take shape, something that felt more familiar, more alive, more immediate – the Quest Yoga.

My  Journey Thus Far...

I first studied Yoga Nidra, which followed with completing additional training in Restorative Yoga and became a Certified Specialist in Restorative Yoga

I was a Finalist in the Network Ireland Kildare’s Businesswoman of the Year Awards. (emerging business category)

My trauma-informed approach has been shaped by two profound trauma informed training over sixty advanced hours: with Awakened Spirit Yoga in California, and most recently, Transcending Trauma through Yoga for Survivors of Sexual Violence, led by Zabie Yamasaki.

Today

Today, I am a Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, and Retreat host.

book a retreat

Safety, compassion, and integrity are not just values I hold - they are the foundation of every space I create, every class I lead, and every retreat I host.

Through my company, The Quest Yoga, my mission is clear: to offer survivors a place to land—a space where they can feel safe, seen, and supported in their own healing journeys.

To know that it is safe, Safe to soften.

My own Story continues, and the book is most definitely still in the works. But for now, I trust that I am right where I need to be – sharing the work that helped me heal, and hopefully helping others find their own way, too.

This is more than yoga. This is healing, this is a homecoming. And it is an honour and a privilege to hold this space for you.
